Well, recently going through chemotherapy, I’ve realized that theres things I wanna do and I can’t let em pass me by! I’m only 16, so I’ve got a lot of time to do things..but surfing is #1 on my list right now.

I snowboard in the winter, but I’m dying for a summer board sport other than skateboarding and I love the water. Theres a shop at a local beach that offers lessons..is it worth it? I’m serious about wanting to surf, and I’d like to keep at it after I learn to get better. Only problem is I don’t know any surfers around here..so it’ll get a little lonely sometimes. haha.

I have an FCS surf leash that recently broke, and am wondering if anyone knows how to fix it.

The leash cord, ankle strap, and tail strap are all fine… however, when I was out the other day, I felt a little pop and found that the ankle strap had popped free of the leash.

It seems that the leash is connected to the ankle strap by means of a swivel-snap, and I guess the ankle component (male part of the swivel snap) is worn out? It’ll snap back into the swivel mount in the leash, but keeps popping out.

The lady at the shop told me that I’m screwed, but I really think there has to be a way to fix this. Everything is in perfect shape and the leash is maybe a year old — it’s just that the swivel won’t stay snapped!

my singing group are going to cali and me and my friends really want to go surfing. however i cant seem to find a surf shop that rents surfboards close to the beach we are staying at. we are going to newport beach/ pier. we are only staying there 3 hours.

What needs do you have that you feel surf shops are lacking?

What are some items that you think should be sold at a surf shop? (besides boards, wax, and wet suits)
